Since the 17th century the same family has worked the vineyards at Château des Chapelains. In 1991 Pierre CHARLOT built a new cellar and started making his own wines. Up to that date the grapes were harvested and delivered to the cooperative. The 43 hectares vineyard overlooks the Dordogne valley on the southern slopes of Sainte Foy La Grande.
29.2 hectares of red grape vines : 14.3 ha merlot, 9.9 ha cabernet sauvignon and 5 ha cabernet franc.
13.4 hectares of white grape vines : 6.4 ha sauvignon blanc, 2.9 ha sémillon, 1.8 ha muscadelle and 2.3 ha sauvignon gris.
